Terms of supply and acceptable use

Research use only

All materials listed on this site are supplied for laboratory research use only, by and to qualified research personnel. Not for human or veterinary use. Not a medicine. Not a food or supplement.

No material listed here holds a marketing authorisation. None is offered, and none may be used, for any diagnostic, therapeutic, clinical, prophylactic, nutritional or cosmetic purpose, in humans or in animals. We publish no information about physiological effect and we will not provide it on request.

Acceptable use

By requesting material through this site you confirm that:

• you are acting for a research institution, laboratory or company, and not as a private individual;
• the material will be used solely for laboratory research, under your institution’s own risk assessment, oversight and control-of-substances arrangements;
• the material will not be administered to any human or animal subject, and will not be onward supplied to any person who intends to do so;
• the material will not be resold, repackaged or represented as being of any grade or intended use other than that stated on the certificate of analysis;
• you are responsible for determining that the intended use, import and possession of the material are lawful where you are.

We decline requests that indicate an intended use in humans or animals, and we may decline any request without giving reasons. Accounts found to be in breach are closed and outstanding orders cancelled.

Jurisdiction

Supply is from the United Kingdom. Some materials listed here are controlled, restricted or prohibited in some jurisdictions, and the classification of a substance for research supply is not the same as its classification for medicinal, veterinary or consumer use. It is the purchasing institution’s responsibility to establish the position in its own jurisdiction before ordering, including any import licence, end-use declaration or institutional approval required.

We do not supply to jurisdictions where supply of the material would be unlawful, and we do not act as importer of record.

Regulatory position

Materials supplied under these terms are research reagents. They are not medicinal products under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012, they are not veterinary medicines, and they are not food supplements or novel foods. Nothing on this site is an offer to supply a medicinal product, and nothing on this site is advertising for a medicinal product.

Adverse event reporting, pharmacovigilance and clinical responsibilities do not arise in respect of research reagents; if you believe a material has been administered to a person, contact your national poisons service or emergency services, not us.

Analysis and specification

Purity figures are principal-peak area percent by the stated method. Certificates of analysis describe the batch tested. Material is supplied to the specification on the certificate and to no other specification, express or implied.

These terms may be revised. The version in force is the version published here on the date the request is made.
